At Up&Down, we take sustainability very seriously. We believe sustainability is a cross-cutting pillar and the only way to organize festivals over time. That’s why, with each edition, we carefully plan the event from three sustainability areas: environmental, social, and economic. Here’s how we do it:

Mobility: Safe and hassle-free travel

We want you to enjoy the festival without worrying about traffic or your carbon footprint. That’s why we encourage you to use public and collective transportation and provide all the information you need: from the location of nearby stations and stops to recommended schedules and routes. This way, not only do you avoid traffic, but you also contribute to reducing the emission of pollutants.

Energy: We take advantage of solar light

Energy is essential for the music to flow, but it’s also important to use it responsibly. At Up&Down, we carefully plan work hours to make the most of natural light.

Shopping: We support local and sustainable practices

Hosting an event requires many resources, but we also believe in the importance of caring for our environment and reducing waste. That’s why we select local suppliers for equipment rentals, thus avoiding oversized purchases and reducing material transportation. With this simple action, we support the local economy and reduce our carbon footprint.

Infrastructure: Green energies

The visual and sound experience of Up&Down is key, but so is doing it responsibly. We have established environmental criteria for our lighting and sound systems: all the screens and lighting systems we use are equipped with high-efficiency LED technology.

Waste: Recycling to keep enjoying

We want Up&Down to be a celebration for everyone, but also an example of how we can reduce our impact. That’s why we encourage selective waste collection. Additionally, we print all our posters on recycled paper because every little gesture counts.

Sound diversity: An inclusive space

The festival collaborates with Sinpromi to include people with functional diversity in the workforce. We’ve also chosen locations based on accessibility criteria, so everyone can come and enjoy jazz and world music without limitations.

At Up&Down, sustainability is part of our identity. These are some of the actions we take to contribute to the environment. Thanks to everyone who, through small gestures, helps make our festival even more special. Finally, remember that sustainability doesn’t end here; it starts and extends into our daily lives. We’ll see you soon, always with a green conscience!
